You Don’t Have Problems to Solve. You Have Tensions to Manage.
- Discover why the same issue keeps coming back — even after the new hire, the new system, the offsite — so you stop spending money and energy on fixing symptoms.
- See how the way you’ve been leading built this business — and is now the thing holding it back.
- Identify which side of the tension you lean into under pressure, so you can finally change your pattern instead of just managing around it.
- Ten minutes, two forces, one page — name the tension you’re stuck in, and finally have the choice to respond differently.
You built something real. It works. So why does it feel like the business is running you — instead of the other way around?
- You’re growing revenue and payroll — but not freedom.
- The same problems keep coming back, just wearing a new face.
- You’re thinking in three-dimensional chess and executing in two.
- You can see exactly where the business should go. You just can’t seem to get it there.
This isn’t burnout, and it isn’t a time-management problem. You’ve tried a new hire, a new system, a new productivity hack, and each one works, for a while. Then, a few months later, you’re dealing with the same issue in a different form.
It’s because it’s not a problem, it’s a tension. Unless you see them, they run underneath everything you do like a hidden weight you don’t even know you’re carrying.
Watch Chris Map a Real Tension
You don’t need to work harder or find the one missing fix. You need to see it clearly — and for the first time, you’ll know how to work with it instead of against it.
The Tension Map is the one-page tool that makes it visible. Ten minutes, and you’ll see exactly what’s been running underneath the problem you keep re-solving.
“After I mapped my tension, I realized that it was ego that was keeping me the bottleneck.”
— Rose, Industrial Services
What You’ll Walk Away With
After ten minutes, on one page:
The recurring problem you keep re-solving, renamed as a tension — so you finally know what you’re actually up against.
The two forces pulling underneath it, mapped — so the push and pull finally has a shape you can see.
You’ll never see your business in the same way again.
What Founders Say About the Tension Map
“It turned into a dialog that unlocked something for me — I ended up directing a substantial change in how we work.”
— Marcus R., Property Management founder
“I realized that I kept trying to fix everything, and that was what was keeping us stuck. Once I saw the underlying tension, I was able to step back.”
— Michael, Auto Parts manufacturer

Who’s Behind It
A leadership strategist and executive coach, Chris Clearfield works with founders navigating the gap between where their business is and where they know it could be — the subject of his book, The High-Altitude Entrepreneur.
He has coached leaders at Netflix, Microsoft, Etsy, and ExxonMobil — but the work he comes back to is with founders running $1.5M to $10M businesses. Design firms, real-estate brokerages, manufacturing operations, healthcare practices, advisory firms. Different industries, same pattern: they built something successful and still can’t get out of the middle of it.
He is also the co-author of Meltdown, winner of the National Business Book Award and the Thinkers50 Strategy Award.
